Crane Arrives - Back on Floats

Paul Fries arrived at 10am with the crane and after the 1 hour coffee clutch, the crowd got down to business.  It took approximately an hour and a half and she was back safe and happy in the hanger.

Initial lift stage
Thanks to all for making this a smooth operation.  Lot's of hands on deck made it all much easier.  Ron Knudsen ran the show, he deserves a lot of credit.
Final lift stage - Hung on just 2 small shear pins above - Yikes

After a post operation 2 hour coffee clutch closer, Neil Anderson invited all to his hanger for chicken and hotdogs on the grille.  The baked beans were the hit with this worker, I had 3 helpings.  Thanks for lunch Neil!  Anderson is working on refurbishing a T-6, wow it looking good so far.

The mandatory coffee clutch.  Many good stories shared.

The avionics are complete.  Anxious to get in the air.  Shooting for Friday May 4th to get back in the action.  We will fly her down to Sandwich for the last step - Paint.  Mike Stadtfeld and crew from Woodlake Aircraft Refinishing are raring to go.  We should be all done before the Memorial Day holiday weekend.  Like all radials on this special holiday, this one needs to be rumbling loud high in the air that weekend.
